Join us this summer!

May 31st - June 2nd 2024

Experience a beautiful part of Massachusetts in a rustic, natural environment. Dance queer tango, take workshops, participate in discussions, and enjoy communal meals and gatherings.  Pinewoods Dance Camp is gorgeous and offers two lakes for swimming, woodland walks, and more.

What to expect:

Classes, workshops and milongas will take place in open-sided dance pavilions with unfinished hardwood floor. Late night milongas will take place in an enclosed hall.

Meals are prepared onsite and served either cafeteria or family style. Menu includes local produce, fish direct from the Plymouth piers, and bread baked daily by Pinewoods own cooks. Campers may pre-register for vegetarian meals, or for some other restricted-diet meals by providing at least two week’s advance notice to the organizers.

Campers are required to pitch in and help fulfill a camp-assignment as part of a co-operative effort to help make camp-life run smoothly, and in building community and friendship. Assignments may include sweeping floors, setting tables for meals, helping organizers set up or clean up.

Overnight accommodation is provided in rustic cabins that are furnished with beds for single or double occupancy, chairs, small closets, chest of drawers and lamps. Bathrooms and shower-rooms are in separate buildings nearby.

Shuttle services can be provided between Pinewoods and the train station at Kingston, MA during arrival and departure times on Friday and Sunday.

Wear comfy clothes, and be prepared to follow woodsy trails between destination. Low or flat shoes are recommended for dancing in lodges. Bring some sunblock, bugspray, your favorite snack, or a bottle of Malbec for you and your new best friends.
